Bangkok hosts IMF–World Bank annual meetings October 12–18

The International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group are scheduled to hold their 2026 Annual Meetings in Bangkok from October 12 to 18. It will be Thailand’s second time hosting the meetings, following the 1991 gathering, according to the institutions’ schedules checked on October 7.

A week of global policy discussions

The IMF and World Bank Group list Bangkok as the venue for their Annual Meetings from October 12 through 18, 2026. The IMF says participants include central bank governors, finance and development ministers, private-sector leaders, civil society representatives and academics. Topics include the world economic outlook, financial stability, poverty reduction, inclusive growth and job creation.

The IMF says Thailand last hosted the meetings in 1991. The World Bank schedule lists ministerial meetings and seminars during the week.

AI and employment are on the programme

The World Bank schedule lists “Small AI, Big Jobs” on October 12 and “Mobilizing Private Capital for Jobs” on October 14. The Annual Meetings plenary is scheduled for October 16. These are session titles on the published programme, not findings or outcomes from a meeting that has yet to take place.
